What is a Zombie? In the 60's news stories from South America reported people being turned into Zombies by
giving them a mixture of drugs that slows the heartbeat, and paralyses their muscles inducing a living dead state. After being pronounced dead and buried they are then dug up and sent to work manual labour on big
isolated farms.
On October1, 1968 George A Romero released a low budget movie called
"The Night of the Living Dead"
it went on to become a cult classic and spawned 5 other Living Dead movies plus two remakes in 1990 and 2006.
Zombies or the undead are reanimated corpses, like Frankenstine without the nice suit. After dieing the
souless dead body comes back to life and infects the living by eating them.
Now the Zombie craze has only gotten bigger over the years with planned Zombie events everywhere.
some horrible bloody trauma to the to indicate the method of your demise and fresh blood stains from eating
human flesh. Obviously Zombies aren't too aware of their appearance so dirty torn clothing is a must. Then you
can just stumble around grunting and following the terrified humans.

As proof of its popularity one of the most watched series on television is "The Walking Dead", an adaption or the comic book of the same name. It's first airing was worldwide (120 countries) on October 26, 2010. It has received critical acclaim and a large following. Starting it's third season, the weekly hour long drama pits the post apocalyptic humans doing in the masses of undead "walkers" by killing the brain, which is the only way to stop the Zombies. It's imagery is a bit graphic but because they are already dead it does not seem to matter much.
