or as they call it a "snapsack". It is my new thrift shop acquisition a Kodak Vigilant Six-20 folding camera.
an average DSLR. This model the Vigilant Six-20 came with the mid range f6.3 - 32 105mm Anastigmat lens
with the Diomatic shutter, 1/100 - 1/25sec plus B & T. It would focus to an amazingly close 3.5 feet.
holding the camera at waist or chest level, it was adjustable for horizontal or portrait shooting. Second was

the shutter-mounted release with a small lever so you don't have to reach around in front. A single button
(next to the film advance) unlocks the door to open or close the bellows which then lock into place.
(*Update it's for a shutter release extension cable, Duh.)
The shutter is also sticky, a malady common to older equipment (not unlike me sometimes, speaking of older equipment) but this can be easily remedied with lighter fluid(?). Since I won't be using the camera to shoot
with in the near future, I will leave this alone until then.
Recently I was gifted a box of 620 film by
a local photographer Kris Kann, from Peacock Photography in Duncan BC. It's use before date was listed as Aug 1974,
but he said it is probably still useable,
with special care developing it should
yield photos. I'll be using it as a
display item for now.
Thanks Kris.
So now until I can come across a nicer Pocket Folder like maybe a German Hapo 66-E or a 1937 Zeiss Ikon Nettar, I guess my next ideal camera would be a full size bellows camera like the one pictured below.
I know, I know, like I'll stumble across one of these, but persistence and vigilance have paid off so far,
so I can continue to dream can't I ?
